Roma 2022 - Convegno Nazionale "Tecnologia e innovazione per una transizione energetica"

We’ve absolutely got batteries which are perfectly adequate for Evs but the more that we can drive the energy density, the what hours per kilogram and the what hours per liter, the wider the range of applications across which batteries will be applicable. Synthetic meet crucial technology still at an early stage, but could be transformative. We then have some areas where the crucial challenge is not so much technical innovation, but business model innovation. We’ve talked for years about the ability to balance supply and demand in the power system, by vehicle to grid, a transfer of electricity by a making people use the batteries as a source of electricity at home. But that requires business models to be put in place. We then have other challenges which are first of a kind application, I would put steel hydrogen based reduction in that. And then we have others on the right hand side of the chart, which are a level of the mash rollout of the technologies we already know. But overall technology and innovation is what is going to take us to the zero carbon economy that we have to achieve. Thank you very much. 3.
